The North Norfolk Railway offers a 10.5 mile round trip by steam train (vintage diesel trains on some journeys) through a delightful area of North Norfolk designated as being of outstanding natural beauty.

North Norfolk’s Poppy Line steam railway offers spectacular views as it runs from Sheringham along the coast to Weybourne and up through the heathland to Holt. The Sunday Times named it as Britain’s best full-size heritage railway trip.
There are steam trains daily from April to the end of October, plus Santa Specials in December and weekend trains in March. All day hop-on, hop-off Rover tickets make this a big value day out. The three stations are beautifully restored Victorian gems, and Holt station has a great museum. Refreshments at all stations, buffet and gift shop at Sheringham. Directions:

Holt is on the A148 Kings Lynn - Cromer road. The station is signposted from the roundabout at Holt

Sheringham is just a mile off the same road. The station is in the centre of the town.

The Sanders/Eastern Counties bus service (Routes 4, X4, 44 and X50) from Norwich to Holt pass the door of both Sheringham and Holt stations.


By Rail
Travel to Sheringham on the national network via Norwich & Cromer. Our station is a minute's walk on the opposite side of Station Road from the National Express East Anglia station. You can claim a 10% discount on presentation of a valid National Express rail ticket (except on special events). Through tickets to Holt are available from National Express East Anglia.
