Many ‘Row houses’ were damaged by World War II bombing or demolished during post-War clearances, but two surviving properties in the care of English Heritage show what these characteristic dwellings looked like at various stages in their history.

The Nelson Monument, was built in 1819 to commemorate the death of Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson at the Battle of Trafalgar and was fully restored for the bicentenary celebrations in 2005.
